Emre Can "looking forward" to playing alongside Mohamed Salah at Liverpool

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can says that he is excited to link up with new signing Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has claimed that he is excited to play alongside new arrival Mohamed Salah.

The Merseyside outfit made their first major signing of the summer when Salah moved to Anfield in a reported £34m deal last week.

The Egyptian international will be an attacking option for manager Jurgen Klopp, but he struggled in the Premier League during his two-year spell at Chelsea, making just 13 Premier League appearances for them.

After moving to Roma on a permanent basis last year, the 25-year-old scored 19 goals and produced 15 assists in all competitions.

"I am really looking forward to it because he's a really good player," the Liverpool Echo quotes Salah as saying. "Yesterday or the day before I saw the stats for him from last year in Italy. I think he will be a very good player for Liverpool."

Can is expected to miss the start of Liverpool's pre-season as he is due an extra break because of Germany's campaign in the Confederations Cup.
