Glen Johnson could reportedly start for Liverpool against Chelsea this weekend after the England international returned to training from a hamstring problem.

Liverpool defender Glen Johnson is reportedly expected to return to fitness in time for the Reds' Premier League clash against Chelsea on Sunday.

The England international has been absent from Liverpool's last three games due to a hamstring problem but the 28-year-old returned to training this week and could be included in Brendan Rodgers's squad for the weekend, according to the Daily Mail.

While Johnson could face his former club on Sunday, it is unlikely that the defender will travel with the Reds for their Europa League encounter against Anzhi Makhachkala in Russia tomorrow.

The Reds head into the match against Chelsea 12th in the league table.
