Wigan manager Roberto Martinez accuses Liverpool striker Luis Suarez of a stamp on David Jones during yesterday's Premier League match at Anfield.

Roberto Martinez has accused Luis Suarez of stamping on David Jones during yesterday's Premier League match at Anfield.

The Wigan manager said that the Uruguayan frontman, who scored two goals in Liverpool's 3-0 victory, was "lucky" to avoid a red card.

"He was very fortunate because there was a stamp on David Jones that the referee didn't see," Martinez said.

"That wasn't the sign of a top player. He was fortunate today. He was lucky.

"It wasn't a nasty game, a bad game. But when you see the replay it is a clear stamp. It could have been a red card if the referee had seen it. But I am not one to look back."

Suarez's brace made him the first player to reach double figures in the Premier League this season.
