Manuel Pellegrini: 'Sergio Aguero back for Liverpool match'

Manchester City's Sergio Aguero will be fit to face Liverpool next week after returning to training.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has said that Saturday's home clash against Southampton will come too soon for Sergio Aguero's return, but confirmed that the striker will be fit to face Liverpool a week later.

Pellegrini said that Aguero has been back in training for just two days so is short of fitness, but with another week under his belt will be fit and firing for the potentially huge clash at Anfield.

"For this week it is too soon for him to start playing because he just worked two days, but next week against Liverpool he will not have any problems," BBC Sport quotes Pellegrini as saying.

City are currently four points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool, but have two games in hand.
