Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Manchester City could line up for Sunday's Premier League clash with Liverpool.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has no fresh injury concerns to work around for Sunday's Premier League trip to Liverpool.

The champions are expected to cope without Ilkay Gundogan until after the international break due to a thigh problem, while Oleksandr Zinchenko remains a major doubt due to a knock.

However, the Ukrainian would be unlikely to force his way into the team over an in-form Joao Cancelo, with Kyle Walker holding his place on the opposite side of defence.

John Stones is yet to play a minute this season and will hope to force his way back into the side sooner rather than later, but Guardiola may avoid throwing him straight into action at Anfield, so Aymeric Laporte could once again get the nod alongside Ruben Dias.

Bernardo Silva inexplicably missed an open goal from a yard out against Paris Saint-Germain in City's midweek Champions League loss but is expected to earn another start here, with Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne also reprising their roles.

The latter could be pushed further forward in order to accommodate the return of Phil Foden, though, with Raheem Sterling unlikely to earn a start against his former club.

Riyad Mahrez was unable to replicate his 2020-21 performances against PSG on Tuesday and should make way for Chelsea match-winner Gabriel Jesus, while Jack Grealish did not enjoy his finest hour at the Parc des Princes either but ought to be fine to go again here.

Man City possible starting lineup: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo; Silva, Rodri, Foden; Jesus, De Bruyne, Grealish
