Andy Carroll 'will turn down offer from West Ham United'

Andy Carroll will turn down a move to West Ham United because he is determined to play European football this season, according to reports.

Andy Carroll will resist any contract offer from West Ham despite the club agreeing a transfer fee with Liverpool, according to reports.

Carroll is determined to stay at Anfield and prove himself to Brendan Rodgers unless an offer comes in from a team with European football, The Guardian reports.

West Ham are reported to have agreed an initial loan fee of £2m for the England striker with a view to a permanent transfer costing £17m.

Hammers manager Sam Allardyce has considerable work to do to convince Carroll that his future lies in East London.

Carroll may not have given up hope a return to his boyhood team Newcastle United.

The 23-year-old has been spent the past week building his fitness on Liverpool's tour of North America.
