In the wake of the Luis Suarez biting incident, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers vows to maintain the club's high standards.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that no player is bigger than the football club.

The Northern Irish boss was speaking after an incident involving Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, who appeared to bite Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic on the arm during this afternoon's match between the two sides at Anfield.

After the final whistle Rodgers insisted that he would not comment on the situation until he had seen it. Speaking later to the press, he was still reluctant to comment, but hinted that he may consider parting with the controversial Uruguayan in the summer.

"This is a club of incredible values and ethics. I`ll always speak open and honestly about players, but I`ll always defend people if I think they are right. Players are always replaceable, no matter how good they think they are. This club is about respect. It will be maintained," he told reporters.

The Football Association has confirmed that it will investigate the incident tomorrow.
