Txiki Begiristain excited by Manchester City, Barcelona draw

Manchester City director of football Txiki Begiristain insists that he is looking forward to the team's last-16 tie against Barcelona in the Champions League.

Manchester City director of football Txiki Begiristain has said that he is excited by the team's draw against Barcelona in the last 16 of the Champions League.

City, who finished behind defending champions Bayern Munich in Group D, were pitted against the Spanish giants on Monday.

Despite admitting that it will be difficult for the Blues to progress, former Barca defender and director Begiristain is looking forward to the two legs between the sides.

"It's very tough, but we are happy because we are here and we will fight for the trophy," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.

"It's a wonderful draw and these are two big teams so it's going to be great, great matches."

City welcome Barcelona to the Etihad Stadium on February 18 for the first leg of their last-16 tie.
