James Milner: 'We must win remaining games'

Manchester City midfielder James Milner believes that his side must win their remaining Premier League fixtures to have a chance of defending the league title.

Manchester City midfielder James Milner has acknowledged that the defending Premier League champions have been sloppy in some of their fixtures this season.

City's 2-1 defeat to Liverpool last weekend left the club five points adrift of leaders Chelsea, but after Manuel Pellegrini's team returned to winning ways against Leicester City, Milner believes that they need 10 more victories to topple the West London outfit.

The 29-year-old told the Manchester Evening News: "We have got a bit sloppy. It is important we step that up and do it for the 95 minutes of a game and not just in periods. That is what you need to do to be successful.

"We know what is in front of us now. The remaining games, we have to win, and we are more than capable of doing that. We have done it before. It is important we build on this win and take that forward."

Milner netted City's second on Wednesday night to take his tally for the season to six in 37 games in all competitions.
