Mauricio Pochettino will reportedly be top of Manchester City's list should Pep Guardiola decide to leave as head coach this summer.

Mauricio Pochettino will reportedly be top of Manchester City's list should Pep Guardiola decide to leave his position as head coach at the end of the season.

On Friday night, the Citizens were hit with the news that they have been expelled from European competition for the next two years for breaching Financial Fair Play regulations.

Should City be unable to overturn the suspension then Guardiola could allegedly decide to walk away from the English champions ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

According to the The Sun, Pochettino has emerged as the early frontrunner for the position, with the Argentine still available having not yet taken a new job since leaving Tottenham Hotspur in December.

The Manchester giants have already revealed that they will appeal the UEFA decision, but the ruling has led to question marks surrounding the futures of the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero.

Pochettino is also believed to be admired by Manchester United, although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains in charge of the 20-time English champions despite a host of speculation.
