Football Association to review Martin Skrtel 'stamp' on David de Gea

The Football Association is to review an incident involving Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel towards the end of their 2-1 defeat to Manchester United.

The Football Association has confirmed that it will review an incident involving Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel during the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United yesterday.

Skrtel appeared to intentionally tread on Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea in the closing stages of Sunday's game at Anfield.

De Gea reacted angrily to Skrtel's action, which referee Martin Atkinson appeared to not see before breaking up the heated exchange.

The FA is waiting for Atkinson's post-match report before they make a decision on the Slovakian defender. If Atkinson did miss Skrtel's action, the 30-year-old could be charged with violent conduct.
