Sir Alex Ferguson anticipates a "close" encounter between Manchester United and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes that his side's clash with Chelsea in the Premier League will be "close".

The Red Devils will head to Stamford Bridge on Sunday four points behind Roberto Di Matteo's team in second place.

"Chelsea are undefeated and that gives you an idea of the level of consistency they have produced," Ferguson is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

"There are a lot of big games to come, of course, but I think it will be close. The game will be important to us, there is no doubt about that."

City, who are level on points with United but third on goal difference, will host Swansea City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
