Ryan Giggs enjoying coaching role

Manchester United's Ryan Giggs is enjoying his new role of player-coach at the club but admits that his side's results have been disappointing this season.

Manchester United stalwart Ryan Giggs has revealed that he is enjoying his new role as player-coach at the club.

Giggs was appointed to United's backroom staff in one of David Moyes's first actions as manager of the club having succeeded Sir Alex Ferguson during the summer.

The 39-year-old admitted that the club's results have not been as good as he would have hoped, with United winning just three of their seven league games so far this season, but stressed that it was still early in the campaign.

"I am enjoying my coaching role at Manchester United - it has been great. It hasn't yet got to the point when I go into the dressing room and everything falls quiet," Giggs told the Manchester Evening News.

"But education is the next step in my career and I'm enjoying it. I am enjoying working with the new manager. Personally, I would prefer better results but we are only seven or eight games into the season."

Giggs has been one of the names linked with taking over as Wales national manager due to the uncertainty surrounding the incumbent Chris Coleman's position.
