Anthony Martial has revealed that his fellow Frenchman Patrice Evra helped convince him to join Manchester United last summer.
Despite links with a host of top European clubs, 20-year-old Martial signed for the Red Devils from Monaco in a deal that could reportedly rise as high as £58m.
Asked who he sought from advice prior to the move, Martial conceded that ex-United left-back Evra - now of Juventus - spoke very positively about life at Old Trafford.
"You also have Pat Evra who lives in the same town as me in France and who has only had good things to say to me about the club," the striker told MUTV.
"He told me it was a club of champions, a club that above else wants to win and certainly since I've arrived here I've felt that for myself too."
Martial has scored nine goals in his debut season for the Red Devils; only captain Wayne Rooney has found the net on more occasions.
