Juan Mata: 'Chelsea closing the gap on Manchester United'

Juan Mata believes that Chelsea can catch Manchester United ahead of Sunday's showdown at Old Trafford.

Chelsea newcomer Juan Mata believes that Manchester United are not that far ahead of everyone else in the Premier League.

The two sides meet at Old Trafford on Sunday, and the Spaniard says that they can overcome the league leaders.

"Obviously [United] have had a strong start," said Mata. "But I think that we're closing that gap.

"We're only two points away, which I think is a distance that we can recover quite easily.

"We've shown that we can win with our Champions League win [against Bayer Leverkusen] recently. Everything's to play for."

While United currently sit top of the Premier League, Chelsea reside in third place.
