Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland.
The future of the club's current No.1 David de Gea remains uncertain despite Real Madrid having a transfer ban imposed on them for the next two windows.
De Gea was close to moving to the Bernabeu last summer, but the transfer fell through at the last minute as paperwork was not filed before the deadline in Spain.
According to the Daily Mail, United are keeping their options open and have Butland at the top of their list should De Gea leave Old Trafford.
Butland has moved into the number one spot at the Britannia Stadium this season following Asmir Begovic's switch to Chelsea last summer.
