Report: Manchester United willing to listen to Rafael offers

Manchester United are willing to sell Brazilian full-back Rafael this summer, according to reports.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has reportedly made it clear to the club's hierarchy that he is willing to let Rafael leave in the summer.

Rafael has struggled to earn regular playing time since Van Gaal's arrival last summer, with the likes of Antonio Valencia, Paddy McNair and Chris Smalling all used as a right-back ahead of the Brazilian.

According to The Telegraph, the United boss will meet with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to discuss the future of a number of his players, and with Rafael set to enter the final year of his contract, the Dutchman is likely to advise the club to listen to offers for the 24-year-old.

United have been linked with a number of right-backs in recent months, with Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne believed to be among their targets, despite reported interest from Chelsea.

Rafael has won eight trophies, including three Premier League titles, since moving to the club in 2008.
