A report claims that Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo is in line for a new contract at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have discussed terms on a new contract with defender Marcos Rojo, according to a report.

The Argentina international is still attempting to reach peak fitness following a long-term spell on the sidelines that has restricted him to just eight appearances since April.

As well as opening talks with goalkeeper David de Gea over a new-and-improved deal, the Daily Mail claims that Rojo is also in line for fresh terms.

Rojo featured heavily last season prior to picking up an anterior cruciate ligament injury, being used 43 times in all competitions.

United boss Jose Mourinho is said to be open to the prospect of offloading Italian full-back Matteo Darmian, meanwhile, but his £17m valuation is putting off interested parties.
