Report: Napoli to make summer move for Lee Cattermole

Napoli boss Rafael Benitez is reportedly still keen to sign Lee Cattermole, despite missing out on the Sunderland midfielder in January.

Napoli boss Rafael Benitez has not given up hope of signing Sunderland midfielder Lee Cattermole, according to a report.

The 25-year-old came close to joining Stoke City last week, but his proposed move to the Britannia Stadium collapsed just a couple of hours before the transfer window slammed shut.

It is believed that, earlier on deadline day, Napoli made a failed attempt to land Cattermole - a player who Benitez tried to sign for Liverpool from Middlesbrough six years ago.

The Metro claims that Benitez is a big fan of Cattermole and will try to link up with him for a third time in the summer.

Napoli are currently third in the Serie A table.
