Newcastle United are interested in signing Lyon defender Jason Denayer, according to a report.
The Magpies were active within the January transfer window, bringing in players across a range of positions, which did include defensive options, with both Kieran Trippier and Dan Burn joining the club.
Since then, Eddie Howe has seen improved performances and results from his side, who are undefeated in their previous six Premier League games, which has lifted them out of the relegation zone.
However, the club are already looking at the next window according to RMC Sport, as the Magpies are interested in signing Denayer at the end of the season, bringing him back to England.
The Belgian international has previously played for Manchester City, but he is currently contracted to Lyon, although his deal with the French outfit expires in the summer.
Denayer has yet to sign an extension, as he is hoping for a new challenge, and Newcastle United have made the 26-year-old one of their targets as they look to add a central defender to the squad.
