Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has revealed that the club's owner Mike Ashley is aware of the need for the team to add attacking options to the squad over the summer.
The Magpies' two main strikers Loic Remy and Luuk de Jong are both at the club on loan, and Pardew said that Ashley's desire to see attacking football will lead to investment in the squad.
"Mike is very much aware," Sky Sports News quotes him as saying. "The one thing he likes in his teams is them to be on the front foot and trying to win the game.
"I don't think he likes tactics where teams set out to defend deep and look to nick something, it's not the way he is. It's not his style and it's certainly not my style. We have talked about that, so that bodes well. He knows we need some attacking options."
Newcastle are currently eighth in the Premier League table.
