Norwich City manager Neil Adams has revealed that Ricky van Wolfswinkel is close to sealing a move to Saint-Etienne.
The 25-year-old endured a torrid debut season at the Canaries and found the back of the net just once as the club suffered relegation from the Premier League.
Adams has admitted that talks have taken place between the striker and the French club, but he would welcome Van Wolfswinkel back into his squad if the move fails.
"I can't confirm he is on the move," Adams told reporters. "What I can say is he is in talks with Saint-Etienne and he has gone over to France for a medical. If it happens, it happens."
"I don't want to lose players. He is a great lad and he has never been a problem to deal with. He has been an excellent professional and if it wasn't to happen then he would come back into our squad. If it becomes concrete then we'll deal with that. It is in his hands."
Van Wolfswinkel has been capped twice by the Netherlands.
