Sports Mole previews Saturday's League One clash between Peterborough United and Portsmouth, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Portsmouth will attempt to extend their unbeaten run to 12 matches when they travel to the Weston Homes Stadium for Saturday's clash with Peterborough United.

Pompey are currently sitting top of the League One table, while Peterborough head into the weekend in fourth position.

Peterborough will carry significant momentum into the weekend after putting together a six-game winning run across all competitions.

In Wednesday's outing, Posh clinched a 3-1 victory over Stevenage courtesy of goals from Harrison Burrows, Jadel Katongo and Kwame Poku.

Having racked up 71 points from 37 matches, Peterborough are sitting in fourth position and four points adrift of second-placed Derby County, who have played a game more.

Posh will look to continue their promotion push in Saturday's clash against the league leaders, and while Portsmouth may boast the best defensive record, Peterborough are currently the league's highest scorers with 74 goals.

The hosts have fared well in recent head-to-head home games, having beaten Portsmouth in each of their last four competitive meetings at the Weston Homes Stadium.

Like their hosts, Portsmouth will also head into Saturday's contest in a confident mood after wining eight and drawing three of their last 11 matches since suffering their most recent defeat against Leyton Orient in January.

John Mousinho's side recorded a narrow 2-1 victory in Tuesday's home game meeting with Burton thanks to a brace from Australia international Kusini Yengi.

As a result of the win, Portsmouth remain five points clear of second-placed Derby and six points better off than Bolton Wanderers in third position.

With Derby and Bolton set to face off at the weekend, Pompey will look to move a step closer to promotion with a win on Saturday, although they will be mindful of the fact that they have drawn three of their last four away matches.

However, they have proven to be a tough team to break down on their travels, having kept clean sheets in five of their previous six away trips.

Team News

Peterborough are still unable to call upon the injured trio of Will Blackmore, Jacob Wakeling and Jeando Fuchs.

Ryan De Havilland is likely to replace Hector Kyprianou, who is set to serve a two-match suspension after receiving his 10th yellow card of the League One season.

Poku will be looking to continue his goalscoring run, having found the net in three of Peterborough's last four matches.

As for the visitors, Conor Ogilvie, Anthony Scully and Callum Lang have all recently been added to a length injury list.

The visitors are still expected to be without Regan Poole, Tom McIntyre, Ben Stevenson, Tom Lowery, Joe Morrell, Alex Robertson, Terry Devlin and Tino Anjorin.

Left-back Jack Sparkes is expected to return to the matchday squad after he missed Tuesday's win due to a minor injury issue.

Peterborough United possible starting lineup:
Steer; Katongo, Knight, Edwards, Burrows; De Havilland, Collins; Poku, Randall, Mason-Clark; Jones

Portsmouth possible starting lineup:
Norris; Rafferty, Raggett, Shaughnessy, Sparkes; Pack, Moxon; Kamara, Peart-Harris, Lane; Yengi

We say: Peterborough United 2-2 Portsmouth

Although Portsmouth are sitting top of the table, they have seen three of their last four away games finish all square, and we think they may have to settle for a point in Saturday's tricky clash with an in-form Peterborough side.
