QPR chairman Tony Fernandes denies team bust-up, hails "great team spirit"

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes insists that the team are "very united", despite reports claiming that a brawl broke out during a social gathering on Sunday.

Queens Park Rangers chairman Tony Fernandes has insisted that there are no issues of disharmony among the players, following reports of a bust-up at a recent social gathering.

The team were allowed to go for Sunday lunch following Saturday's 2-0 win over Burnley, but newspaper reports claimed that a brawl broke out at a local pub, which was also attended by Crystal Palace players.

A spokesman for the club confirmed that Steven Caulker suffered a cut to his head, but denied claims that it was due to an altercation.

Fernandes has also commented on the rumours by revealing that the defender "slipped over" and hurt his head.

On Twitter, he wrote: "Team is very United and really playing for each other. Steven caulker slipped over and hurt his head and is fine. Nothing else to report.

"Great team spirit. We are one. Best I've seen since being chairman. A few sensational headlines but team has done us proud."

Saturday's result moved QPR out of the relegation zone in the Premier League table.
