Rangers boss Ally McCoist insists that not all SPL clubs were "totally against" his side.

Rangers boss Ally McCoist believes that many SPL clubs would welcome Rangers back to the top division, insisting that they still have "very, very good friends" there.

The chief exectuve of the Ibrox club, Charles Green, had suggested earlier in the week that they may not seek re-entry to the SPL.

The newco Rangers had ten clubs voting against them being reinstated to the SPL, leaving the side having to play their football in the third tier of Scottish football. McCoist said that he could see Green's point of view, but claimed that clubs were not "totally against" his side.

"I can totally see where he (Green) is coming from," said McCoist.

"Nobody would want to go back to a home that they're not welcome in, no matter what walk of life you're in.

"I firmly do not believe that the ten who voted against us were totally against us."

Rangers drew 0-0 with Annan Athletic this afternoon.
