Report: 'Ally McCoist to hold talks with club chiefs over Rangers future'

Rangers manager Ally McCoist will hold talks with the club's board to discuss his Ibrox future, following news that he tendered his resignation this week.

Ally McCoist will reportedly hold talks with the Rangers board next week to discuss his Ibrox future.

The 52-year-old is believed to have tendered his resignation as manager of Scottish Championship side following a bad run of results, although reports later emerged suggesting that his plans to leave had been rejected by the club.

The Daily Mail claims that McCoist will meet with Gers chiefs on Wednesday, where it is suggested that he could be placed on gardening leave or have his contract settled at a cost of £400,000.

Should McCoist leave, former Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies is seen as the top target to take over.

Rangers are currently second in the Scottish Championship table, sitting nine points adrift of league leaders Hearts, who also have a game in hand.
