Isco calls for calm

Real Madrid midfielder Isco calls for calm as the Spanish club prepare for their Champions League opener against Galatasaray on Tuesday evening.

Real Madrid midfielder Isco has admitted that the club cannot "become obsessed" with triumphing in the Champions League this season.

The Spaniard, who joined Madrid from Malaga in the summer, is expected to feature when Carlo Ancelotti's side begin their group campaign against Turkish outfit Galatasaray on Tuesday evening.

"We cannot become obsessed with winning the Champions League. It is very difficult, but we intend to try. We will give it everything, it is important to begin well, but not to obsess," he told reporters at a press conference.

"No-one in the dressing room has spoken about obsession, it's a dream to win La Decima, we have the team and the confidence to win, but you have to work hard to achieve this goal and we will try. This year may be the year, we will have to work hard and then we will see.

"My work in Europe? I hope to help the team as much as possible. We should be pushing altogether because we will be facing the best teams in Europe. We must be united and assume each game as they come."

Isco has scored three times for Madrid this season.
