Rafael Benitez unsure over Karim Benzema availability

Real Madrid head coach Rafael Benitez is unsure if Karim Benzema will recover from a hamstring problem to play against Paris Saint-Germain.

Rafael Benitez has admitted that he does not know if Karim Benzema will be fit for Real Madrid's trip to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.

The French striker missed yesterday's 3-0 win over Levante because of a hamstring injury that he picked up while on international duty.

There had been suggestions that the 27-year-old would recover in time for the Champions League group encounter in Paris, but Benitez has insisted that he is yet to make a decision.

"I don't know [if Benzema will be fit]. I spoke to him this morning. Everybody says they're better and everybody wants to play, but we have to assess it," the Madrid head coach told the club's official website.

Benzema has scored seven goals in all competitions for Los Blancos this season.
