Osasuna leave it late to beat Real Valladolid

Osasuna beat Real Valladolid in La Liga with an 84th-minute goal.

A late goal from Oier has given Osasuna a 1-0 victory away at Real Valladolid.

The away outfit could have taken an early lead, but Roberto Torres's shot from outside the area drifted wide.

It was a similar story a few minutes later. This time Alvaro Cejudo picked up the ball from Emiliano Armenteros, but couldn't beat Diego Villar.

Valladolid began to emerge in the match as it ticked towards half time. Patrick Ebert forced Andres Fernandez into a save, but the home side were unable to sustain their pressure for long periods.

Osasuna ended the half on top with a decent chance spurned by Damia, but neither produced their best football.

Valladolid came out in the second half looking more positive. First Javi Guerra missed the target and then Alvaro Rubio went close with a right-footed effort.

However, Osasuna won the match when Oier rose highest to head into the net.
