Nacer Chadli: 'Tottenham Hotspur were better than Fiorentina'

Nacer Chadli admits that the exit from the Europa League was hard to accept as he believes Tottenham Hotspur were better than Fiorentina.

Nacer Chadli has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur were better than Fiorentina despite crashing out of the Europa League with a 3-1 aggregate loss in the last 32.

A 2-0 victory for Fiorentina on Thursday secured the Serie A side's progress in the competition, and Chadli admitted that it felt like a missed opportunity for Spurs, who dominated possession for long spells but struggled to create many clear chances in the second leg.

"We're very disappointed," the Belgian told the club's official website. "We had better chances, more possession and played better than them.

"It was a bit like the first leg. We weren't sharp enough. We're all frustrated because we feel we're better than them."

Spurs will now turn their focus to Sunday's League Cup final against Chelsea.
