Tottenham Hotspur youngster Harry Kane is looking forward to establishing himself as a top goalscorer in the Premier League.

The 19-year-old striker made his debut in the English top flight on Saturday, when he came on as a late substitute in Spurs' 2-1 away defeat to Newcastle United.

"As a kid you grow up wanting to play in the Premier League and I got my five minutes at the end at Newcastle on Saturday," he is quoted as saying on Tottenham's official website.

"It's a proud moment for me and my family, and hopefully it's just the start with many more to come, and plenty of goals.

"The Premier League is the next progression. I played Europa League last season and now I want to play in the Premier League. I did well in pre-season and it was great to get on."

Kane, who made his debut for Tottenham in a Europa League playoff home-leg clash against Hearts last year, played on loan for Millwall in the Championship in the second half of the 2011-12 campaign.
