Tom Carroll has admitted that the excitement is building in the Tottenham Hotspur squad as they prepare for Wednesday's League Cup clash with North London rivals Arsenal.
Spurs head into the match full of confidence after three successive wins in all competitions, but Carroll claims that recent performances will not have an impact as they look to clinch a spot in the fourth round by beating Arsene Wenger's men at White Hart Lane.
"It's a huge game and I'm sure everyone associated with the club is looking forward to it," the midfielder told the club's website.
"A great atmosphere is guaranteed when you're playing in a North London derby and with the fans right behind us the players will relish the challenge.
"Form counts for nothing in a game like this, but our aims are to progress in all the competitions so it should be a great match."
Spurs have won just one of the last four North London derbies.
