Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Manchester City could line up for Sunday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will be forced to make do without John Stones for Sunday's Premier League contest with Tottenham Hotspur.

The England centre-back pulled up with a thigh injury during last week's FA Cup win over Arsenal, where Phil Foden missed out entirely due to a foot problem.

While Foden should return for this game, Stones is facing at least three weeks out, while Joao Cancelo has waved his goodbyes after a surprise loan switch to Bayern Munich.

Rico Lewis can therefore look forward to another start in the City backline, while Aymeric Laporte is the most likely candidate to deputise for Stones in the middle alongside Manuel Akanji, with Ruben Dias still warming the bench.

Nathan Ake can feel confident of another start at left-back, while Stefan Ortega enjoyed a strong showing against the Gunners but will hand the gloves back over to Ederson here.

Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan are in no position to lose their places in the midfield, most likely forcing Bernardo Silva to accept another substitute outing here.

Silva could potentially force his way in on the right, but Riyad Mahrez led the City comeback in January's 4-2 win over Spurs and now has seven goals and four assists to boast against Tottenham in the Premier League.

Twenty-five-goal striker Erling Braut Haaland will spearhead the charge as ever, most likely with the support of Mahrez and Jack Grealish, whose British-record £100m transfer fee was recently surpassed by Enzo Fernandez.

Manchester City possible starting lineup: Ederson; Lewis, Akanji, Laporte, Ake; Gundogan, Rodri, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Haaland, Grealish
