Tottenham Hotspur's Ivan Perisic is reportedly set to join Hajduk Split on a free transfer despite being sidelined with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Tottenham Hotspur winger Ivan Perisic is reportedly set to join Hajduk Split in January.

Perisic featured as a substitute in each of Tottenham's opening five games of the Premier League season, before he suffered a serious knee injury in training.

Tottenham confirmed that Perisic had sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury and would require surgery to address the issue.

Since arriving on a free transfer in the summer of 2022, Perisic has scored one goal and provided 14 assists in 50 competitive appearances.

However, there is a real possibility that the 34-year-old has played his final game for the North London club.

According to Sportske, Tottenham are willing to let Perisic return to Croatia and join his boyhood club Hajduk Split.

Perisic spent six years in the club's academy system, but he left in 2006 without making a senior appearance for the Croatian side.

Although Perisic has a contract until the end of the season, Spurs are prepared to allow him to leave on a free transfer in January.

While nothing is set in stone, the report claims that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has verbally agreed to let the versatile player join Hajduk Split.

Having played in France, Belgium, France, Germany and England, a move back to Hadjuk Split would give Perisic a chance to play senior football in his native Croatia for the first time.

The proposed move has been facilitated due to the good relationship built between the two clubs following negotiations over a deal for 16-year-old defender Luka Vuskovic.

Spurs have confirmed that the youngster will join the club in 2025 and will sign a contract until the summer of 2030.

Tottenham fended off interest from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea to secure Vuskovic's signature.
