Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend has revealed that he is more determined than ever to secure his place in the England squad for the World Cup.
The 22-year-old boosted his chances of going to Brazil towards the end of last year with two impressive displays against Montenegro and Poland.
Despite a hamstring injury limiting his time on the pitch during the past two months, Townsend is eager to recapture his form from earlier this season and be part of Roy Hodgson's plans this summer.
"Every single English winger seems to be playing well at the moment. You've got Raheem Sterling, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Adam Johnson," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
"I've been out injured watching the Premier League and seeing everyone doing well. That just gives me an extra incentive to come back and to play even better than I was before.
"I'm looking forward to the rest of the season now and getting back to where I was before I was injured."
Townsend has been included in the England squad for their upcoming friendly against Denmark.
