West Bromwich Albion midfielder Darren Fletcher has admitted that he has had a word with Saido Berahino following the striker's recent tumultuous period at the club.
Berahino was the subject of a number of bids from Tottenham Hotspur during the summer window, and is thought to have tried to force through a deadline-day move by hitting out at club chairman Jeremy Peace.
The Midlands outfit rejected all advances for the player, and Fletcher has now revealed that he has spoken to his teammate as the club try to reintegrate him back into their side.
"I have had a word to him. We will keep that private. I'd like to think I've helped a little bit," said Fletcher, according to the Daily Star.
"The lads have given him a bit of stick. Sometimes that's the best way because it takes away the tension."
Berahino featured in the Baggies' draw against Southampton this weekend.
