Steve Clarke hints at Peter Odemwingie's West Bromwich Albion future

West Bromwich Albion manager hints that Peter Odemwingie may still have a future at the club.

West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clarke has revealed that Peter Odemwingie's career at the club may not be over.

The striker made headlines on transfer deadline day after he was refused entry to Loftus Road as West Brom denied QPR permission to speak to him.

The Nigerian forward was subsequently sent home from training when he returned to the club and was left out of Saturday's 0-0 draw with Norwich City.

However Clarke has claimed that Odemwingie may still have a future at the club, despite the player saying otherwise on Friday.

"I can't say for sure but I don't think he's played his last game for the club," Clarke told reporters.

"Maybe he has to apologise. Maybe he has to get back into the squad. Maybe he has to show his team-mates he is willing to help them.

"I think there has been a number of high-profile cases where there is a way back. It's not going to happen overnight, it's going to happen over time."

Odemwingie's teammates reportedly took his actions in good humour and presented him with a QPR shirt with his name on the back when he returned to training.
