Kevin Doyle believes that Terry Connor has what it takes to guide Wolverhampton Wanderers to safety this season.

Striker Kevin Doyle has backed Terry Connor to get the best out of the Wolverhampton Wanderers squad.

The Wolves board decided to hand Connor the management duties of the club until the end of the season yesterday afternoon.

Despite having no previous experience as a manager, Doyle believes that Connor has what it takes to guide Wolves to safety this season.

"He has got the players' respect," said Doyle. "We all know the last performance was very poor but TC will get us going and will keep that continuity. We'll be right behind him 100%.

"He's been here ever since I arrived at the club and has been excellent around the place, both individually and collectively with his coaching and work with players."

Connor was Mick McCarthy's assistant at Molineux.
