Midfielder Tonga Doumbia has left Wolverhampton Wanderers to join Valenciennes on a season-long loan deal.
The 24-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Molineux since the arrival of Kenny Jackett and rarely featured during the club's pre-season campaign.
Jackett has stressed the need for new signings at the League One club, and the departure of Doumbia will free up funds for a permanent or temporary replacement.
The former Rennes player made 33 appearances in the Championship last season.
