Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett has insisted that defender Matt Doherty has a positive future at the club.
Doherty has been involved in Jackett's opening two matches in charge at Molineux, and the former Millwall boss has admitted that he has been impressed with the 21-year-old's contribution.
The 51-year-old told the Birmingham Mail: "We like Matt and think that he's done very well. He's someone who we do see as having a future at the club.
"We've been impressed with him – not just last season but in the two games so far this season, both defensively and going forwards, so we'd like that to continue."
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international signed for Wolves in 2010.
