Arsene Wenger believes Arsenal's second-half comeback to beat Aston Villa 3-2 in the FA Cup can spark their league form.

Arsene Wenger believes that his side's FA Cup comeback against Aston Villa can spark their faltering league form.

The Gunners came back from 2-0 down to beat beat Villa 3-2 in the FA Cup fourth round, with goals from Robin Van Persie and Theo Walcott.

Wenger said that he was "very proud" of his team's spirit and belief in their second-half comeback. However, the Frenchman now wants to see performances of a similar nature in the Premier League. Arsenal have lost three league games in a row and Wenger is hoping that his players have now turned a corner and are ready to improve their form.

"I hope it will convince the team we have the qualities needed and we can transfer that to the Premier League," said the Arsenal boss.

"When you don't win your belief goes. We lost our last three games in the Premier League so of course your belief is not there, regardless of your history.

"I was very impressed with the spirit. Coming from a bad period of results and being 2-0 down you can feel sorry for yourself, but the players were very positive at half-time."

Arsenal face Sunderland or Middlesbrough in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
