Thibaut Courtois "fully committed" to Chelsea

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois insists that he is "fully committed" to the club despite suggesting that he wanted to leave during the summer.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has insisted that he is "fully committed" to helping the club win silverware this season.

Courtois poured doubt over his future during the summer by seemingly suggesting that he wanted a return to Spain following a difficult 2015-16 campaign for the Blues.

However, the Belgian claims that his comments were misinterpreted and insists that he is happy at Stamford Bridge under Antonio Conte.

"I think sometimes my comments didn't come out the way I meant. I can understand [the Chelsea fans] were frustrated, but I never meant it that way," he is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.

"They can clearly see that I am fully committed to this club, I want to win games and to win trophies for this club. I will do my very best for Chelsea.

"Am I in the best form of my Chelsea career? I think the first season I played very well too but with Petr [Cech] around, I think people noticed it less. I had a lot of games where I made a lot of important saves, but it went a bit unnoticed."

Chelsea currently boast the joint best defensive record in the Premier League, having kept eight clean sheets during their 10-match winning streak.
