Manuel Pellegrini: 'Stupid mistakes costing us points'

Manuel Pellegrini says that Manchester City are gifting goals to other teams and it is costing them precious Premier League points.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has blasted his team's "stupid mistakes" that are costing them valuable points in the battle at the top of the Premier League.

A mix-up between Joe Hart and Matija Nastasic allowed Chelsea striker Fernando Torres to pounce late in the game at Stamford Bridge yesterday, sealing all three points for the Blues.

The result leaves the Citizens seventh in the table, six points off leaders Arsenal.

"We have lost three away games, and in all of them we have conceded goals the other team did not deserve," Pellegrini told reporters.

"We are losing stupid points. In all three games, we've had the main responsibility for the goals the other team scored."

City have also lost on the road to Cardiff City and Aston Villa.
