Chelsea defender Papy Djilobodji joins Werder Bremen on loan

Chelsea defender Papy Djilobodji moves to Bundesliga side Werder Bremen on loan for the rest of the 2015-16 season.

Chelsea defender Papy Djilobodji has joined German outfit Werder Bremen on loan for the remainder of the 2015-16 season.

It came as a surprise when Chelsea signed the defender on a four-year contract from Nantes on the final day of the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old has not yet made a single Premier League appearance for the capital club, with his only outing coming as a substitute in the League Cup earlier this season.

On their official website, Bremen have announced that the Senegal international will spend the rest of the season with the Bundesliga club.

It is believed that Chelsea paid just shy of £3m for Djilobodji in September.
