Jose Mourinho to target Raphael Varane?

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho reportedly tells club officials to attempt to sign Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.

Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane will reportedly become a target for Chelsea during the summer.

Varane is regarded as one of the most promising defenders in world football after impressing in his first two seasons at the La Liga giants.

However, according to Spanish newspaper Marca, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, who signed Varane during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu, is keen for a reunion with the 21-year-old as he looks to strengthen his squad at Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho, who revealed yesterday that Chelsea will only make "critical signings" in the summer, has allegedly told club officials to begin negotiations with Madrid regarding the France international.
