Report: AC Milan make enquiry for Chelsea ace Cesc Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas is still reportedly on AC Milan's radar, despite manager Vincenzo Montella essentially ruling out a move for the Chelsea midfielder just last week.

AC Milan directors reportedly used a trip to Stamford Bridge at the weekend to make an enquiry for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

The Spain international has been unable to hold down a place in the Blues' midfield this term, leading to talk of a January switch abroad.

Reports in the summer suggested that Milan were among those to have made an offer for Fabregas, but manager Vincenzo Montella attempted to put an end to the speculation last week when insisting that he was looking elsewhere for a new midfield general.

According to the London Evening Standard, however, Rossoneri chiefs Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Mirabelli were both present in West London on Saturday to watch Chelsea's 3-0 win over champions Leicester City.

It is claimed that the duo used their trip to ask about Fabregas's increasingly unclear situation, with the 29-year-old missing out on squad selection altogether due to a minor injury problem.

Fabregas has just one Premier League start to his name this term, coming in the heavy 3-0 loss to Arsenal last month.
