Laurent Blanc reportedly decides to stand down as coach of the French national team.

Laurent Blanc has reportedly resigned from his position as coach of the French national team.

The 46-year-old's future had been the subject of much speculation ever since France's quarter-final exit of Euro 2012 at the hands of defending champions Spain.

Blanc himself recently refused to commit his future to the job, insisting that he would hold discussions with the French Football Federation over the coming days.

While no official announcement has been made, French newspaper L'Equipe has claimed that the former Manchester United defender believes that he has taken the national team as far as he can.

Blanc has recently been linked with the managerial vacancy at Tottenham Hotspur.
