How Juventus could line up against Cagliari Calcio

Sports Mole looks at how Juventus could line up in Tuesday night's trip to Cagliari Calcio in Serie A.

Juventus will be looking to continue their charge towards an eighth successive Serie A title when they visit Cagliari Calcio on Tuesday night.

The Old Lady returned to winning ways at the weekend by beating Empoli and will have the chance to move 18 points clear at the top of the table on Tuesday night as second-placed Napoli are not in action until 24 hours later.

Juve have been victorious in each of their last five Serie A meetings with Cagliari, including a 3-1 home success earlier this season and a 1-0 win in the corresponding match last term.

Massimiliano Allegri's side certainly have bigger fish to fry in the coming weeks, but the champions will be keen to put another three points on the board on Tuesday night.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how Juve could line up against Cagliari.

POSS JUVE XI vs. CAG

Out: Cristiano Ronaldo (thigh), Douglas Costa (hamstring), Paulo Dybala (unknown), Mario Mandzukic (fever), Sami Khedira (heart), Juan Cuadrado (knee), Leonardo Spinazzola (knee), Mattia Perin (shoulder)

Cagliari will certainly have been boosted by Juve's injury problems ahead of the match.

Cristiano Ronaldo will again miss out for the Italian champions as he battles to overcome the thigh problem that he picked up during the recent international break.

Ronaldo has been joined on the sidelines by Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala, with the former suffering from a fever and the latter unavailable due to a slight injury.

Leonardo Spinazzola is also out with a knee problem, while neither Douglas Costa nor Juan Cuadrado will be risked as the pair build back to fitness following hamstring and knee injuries respectively.

Sami Khedira is also not yet available following a heart procedure, meaning that Allegri's first-team options are incredibly limited.

Moise Kean scored the only goal of the match against Empoli at the weekend and should start, while Martin Caceres, Mattia De Sciglio, Rodrigo Bentancur and Federico Bernardeschi are all expected to make the XI. Giorgio Chiellini could be rested, though, ahead of a busy run of matches.
