Vladimir Petkovic is confident that Lazio will finish in the top three in Serie A despite picking up just a point against Roma on Monday.

Lazio coach Vladimir Petkovic has insisted that his side can still finish in the top three in Serie A this season.

The Aquile dropped to fifth in the league table on Monday following a 1-1 draw with Roma in the Rome derby at the Stadio Olimpico.

"In the second half we had to calm the rhythm of the game down," he told Sky Sport Italia. "But in the first half we had a lot of the ball, and that allowed us to dominate.

"We have shown a willingness to win here, but unfortunately we could only get a draw. I see the glass as half full though. I believe that the Champions League is still possible."

Milan currently occupy the third and final Champions League spot allocated to Italy.
