Lens currently sit in third place and are level on points with league leaders Paris Saint-Germain and second-placed side Marseille.
They have won three of their four games this term, beginning with a 3-2 win over Brest on the opening weekend of the campaign.
Although they had to settle for a goalless draw against Ajaccio on matchday two, they bounced back in their next game, sweeping aside Monaco via a 4-1 scoreline.
Another victory followed at the weekend as goals from Seko Fofana and Lois Openda helped Lens claim a narrow 2-1 victory over Rennes.
Including last season, Lens are now unbeaten in their last 12 Ligue 1 games, ensuring that they head into the midweek contest in confident mood.

Like their hosts, Lorient are looking to continue their own unbeaten run after avoiding defeat in their previous five league matches.
Three of those contests have taken place this season, including the 1-0 win that they recorded away to Rennes to begin the campaign with a victory.
A late Ibrahima Kone spot kick helped Lorient draw 2-2 against Toulouse before they played host to Clermont on Sunday in their first home encounter of the season.
Terem Moffi dispatched his penalty to open the scoring before grabbing another goal before half time, and although Muhammed Saracevic halved the deficit in the 62nd minute, Lorient held firm to claim their second win of the season.
Although Lorient have started the season in impressive form, they have only won once in their last six away league games ahead of Wednesday's encounter.

Adam Buksa is sidelined with an ankle problem for the hosts, while Wuilker Farinez is a long-term injury absentee.
Following the 2-1 victory over Rennes at the weekend, Franck Haise may decide to name an unchanged lineup for Wednesday's contest.
Openda scored his second goal of the season on Saturday, and the forward will look to find the net for a third consecutive match in midweek.
As for Lorient, they are expected to be without the services of Quentin Boisgard and Igor Silva due to injury issues.
Like their hosts, Regis Le Bris could opt for an unchanged starting XI following the narrow victory over Clermont at the weekend.
After opening his account for the season with a brace on Sunday, Moffi will provide one of Lorient's main goal threats against Lens.
Lens possible starting lineup:
Samba; Medina, Danso, Gradit; Frankowski, Fofana, Abdul Samed, Machado; Costa, Sotoca; Openda
Lorient possible starting lineup:
Mvogo; Kalulu, Talbi, Laporte, Le Goff; Abergel, Le Fee; Ouattara, Ponceau; Lauriente; Moffi
We say: Lens 2-1 Lorient
Although both sides are unbeaten this term, we think that a Lens side that have won both of their home games this season will edge out the visitors on Wednesday.
